Necklines from turtle, roll to new neckline on the catwalk; the hatchling. Very similar to the turtle neck it is just like its baby sister as it only lengthens half way up the neck, never all the way or folded over. Finally, a neckline for those of us with short necks how did it take them so long.

With the transition into Spring arriving soon but still wanting to keep warm on those chillier days the hatchling is the perfect neckline to wear as it is not over suffocating but also adds that little bit of warmth that you need. It has dotted about on all the SS16 catwalk shoes and magazine articles with Balmain using the neckline as jewellery on his models with a bold and striking gold trapping  their necks. Also, with Karl Lagerfeld creating jewellery for Chanel as what appears to be can lids attached and dragged up to the neck to add a punk style to any biker jacker or shirt. Whereas, Christian Dior created a more elegant look with a lilac organza two piece, this looks like it will be a big hit in the Spring/Summer this year.

Although, it is a new more modern and sophisticated take on the turtle arguably it is still the same turtle neck just be a new, fancy name. Even still it will be sure to be around for a while.
