DUNAS SUITES AND VILLAS RESORT REVIEW

Wednesday, July 12, 2017

Continuing with some of my holiday themed posts I thought I would write a review of my stay at Dunas Suites and Villas Resort in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria. Of course before we booked our stay through On the Beach we checked out a lot of reviews online mainly tripadvisor and I also tried to find some blog reviews but couldn't so what better to have one up now.

The Hotel was about an hour drive from Gran Canaria airport and about a 15 minute walk to the beach and main town of Maspalomas. As well as being close to the beach, shops and restaurants the hotel was also in a great location for buses to other towns like Las Palamas, Playa de Ingles and Puerto Rico.

Dunas Suites and Villas itself was a huge resort we were very surprised, it is actually connected to its sister hotel where you could share facilities just nor the restaurants. There was a total of five pools we were lucky to be right next to one, tennis courts, evening entertainment, pool bar, gym and spa. All the staff were extremely friendly from arriving to leaving, one day I even felt ill and the next day they remembered and asked how I was, I find little things like that really stand out.

The hotel facilities were all to a vert high standard particularly the restaurant. Our favourite part of the day was going to breakfast and dinner as we were half board, so just paid for our drinks at dinner. For breakfast it was pretty much the same each day there was a lot of fruit, a variety of eggs, breads, sausages, beans etc. Dinner was so good it definitely exceeded our expectations each night there was a main dish which changed depending on the theme of the night the paella as you can imagine was amazing, tacos and fajitas on mexican night, fish, chicken, beef, lamb, pasta, pizza, chips all the food you can possibly imagine. There was also sides of salad, bread and for dessert so many cakes, ice cream and fruit.

Finally, onto our room we had booked at standard suite which was a lot bigger than I had anticipated. As you walked in your came to the living room with two sofas, a table and desk with a TV on, we didn't actually spend a lot of time in here but I'd imagine you would if there was more of you. The bedroom had a massive bed which we loved as we are used to sharing a single haha. Two bed side tables and a big wardrobe for all our clothes which also had full length mirrors on the. The bathroom was my favourite part of the suite as it was so spacious with a standing shower, bath and two sinks we wanted to stay there forever. The patio was also nice with a little table to sit out on in the evenings.

Overall we were so happy with our stay at Dunas Suites and Villas, if you are looking to go to Gran Canaria I highly recommend staying there as we paid less than £500 each including flights for an amazing deal.

There will be more posts coming soon on things to do in Gran Canaria and a few of my outfits, take a look at my holiday diary too
